Gray's friends influenced her to begin her journey with social media, and she went on to have more success than them. Her mom downloaded the app for the sole purpose of watching her. Loren's popularity with musical.ly also spread to other social media sites. Gray's YouTube videos were soon seen by all kinds of users who then created compilations. Loren's mom was concerned about Loren's emotional health, which is why she decided to ban her from school.
